Why Canada?

Canada ticks all the boxes whether you’re looking for music import or export opportunities. This international music trade potential is underlined by the global chart dominance of Canadian artists (Drake, Justin Bieber, The Weeknd, Shawn Mendes, etc.) and the sheer local size of the Canadian music market (8th biggest recorded music market in 2019, IFPI). Moreover Canada boasts an almost unrivaled public funding tradition, both on the federal and regional level, when it comes to supporting the international relations of the Canadian music industry (artist travel support, international conference invitations, etc.). All of these factor add up to making Canada the ideal transatlantic music trade bridge between North America and Europe. A bridge that is more needed than ever in this unprecedented global pandemic year.

Organisers

The virtual trade summit is organised by Canadian Independent Music Association CIMA, Canadian Trade Commissioner Service and SODEC, providing music professionals from both countries with an unique opportunity to get to understand each others markets better, network and ultimately develop new international trade opportunities across the Atlantic.
