Song contest "Your song for ONE WORLD": The finalists have been announced!
The final winners of the current round of the Song Contest “Dein Song für EINE WELT!” (Your song for ONE WORLD) have been chosen! With more than 500 entries and over 2,500 participants, the song contest once again received a great response in its third round!
With the jury's decision, the 23 songs on the ONE WORLD album have now been decided, as have the five finalists who will compete for the
main prizes and the title of the EINE WELT song on December 4, 2019. You can read all about the results and listen to all winning songs here

SPEZIAL PRIZES
Special prizes were awarded in the categories “Africa” and “Latin America”:
The Africa special prize was won by The Elites from Malawi with the song “Love and Unity”. Colombia Caritas from Colombia secured the Latin America special
prize with song “Caminos de Esperanza”. A special video prize was also awarded: This went to Ants In Pants for entry “Hey, steht
auf”.
ABOUT THE CONTEST
"Dein Song für Eine Welt" (herafter referred to "Your song for one world") is a song contest initiated by Germany's Federal Ministry for Economic Cooperation and Development and conducted
by their agency for development policy initiatives Engagement Global. FACTORY 92 has been hired by Kreativ Konzept to support the music industry communication surrounding the
project. The contest is targeted at young song writers between 10 - 25 years and aims to stimulate exchange across the borders, in terms of what it means for the youth to live in 2019’s
globalized world and put it to song. The Song Contest “Dein Song für EINE WELT!” (“Your song for ONE WORLD”) enjoys the support of numerous prominent patrons from the fields of film, television and
music, each assisting the project in their own way: Banda Internationale, Cassandra Steen, EES, Graf Fidi, Jamie-Lee Kriewitz, JESS, Johan- na Klum, Joyce Candido, Kafvka, Karyna Gomes,
Mathea, Mu Mbana und Niko Backspin.
WHY
Today's children and youth are growing up in a world, that has on the one hand broken down many borders, but which simultaneously, under the influence of populists, tries to
re-establish borders, while facing several monumental challenges such as wars, environmental crisises and an ever growing divide between the rich and the poor. The contest thus encourages young
artists, be it solo artists, choirs or bands to express fears, hopes, wishes or ideas for a common future - in one song.
STEPS
Songs could be submitted until the 25th of June 2019. Hereafter, a jury of music industry professionals picked the 23 best songs. These 23 songs will be recorded and released as the "Your song for
one world" compilation. "Your song for one world" song contest will be wrapped with a one-day festival (to take place in Berlin in the summer of 2020), where the 23 the winners will perform their
songs.
