9. March 2016
Sziget continues its series of announcements, this time with a total of 14 new acts. Among those are Sia, Excision, Dyro, Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds, Travis Scott and many more, including a host of German confirmations. The program is shaping up nicely for the week-long festival holiday, held between 10th and 17th of August, 2016.
In addition to the already announced names (including Muse, David Guetta, The Last Shadow Puppets, Bastille), 14 new names have now been announced for Sziget 2016. Singer-songwriter Sia as well as British music scene icon Noel Gallagher (with his band Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds) will take the stage. Jake Bugg will bring his indie folk tunes to Sziget, Molotov will rock the place, while Travis Scott will hit the stage with his hiphop beats.
Canadians Crystal Castles with their experimental electronic sounds as well as Excision with some dubstep will visit Sziget, as will UNKLE with their live set, French singer-songwriter JAIN, Wilkinson with his live set, Norwegian singer Aurora, top Dutch DJ Dyro, Belgian electropop band Oscar and the Wolf, British electronic artists Tourist and Danish newcomers Palace Winter.
Further German confirmations
Following the earlier confirmation of K.I.Z., the German speaking contingency was further strengthened: with Munich-based rapper Fatoni, band-of-the-moment Isolation Berlin, gloomy post-punkers Die Nerven, a DJ-Set by “Songs of Gastarbeiter”-initiators Imram Ayata and Büllent Kullukca, as well as Swiss bands ABU and Serafyn.
Citypass
The Citypass will be returning for this year’s Sziget. With this pass, Szitizens will be able to use a shuttle from the airport to the festival as well as all local transport, and visit Budapest’s bathhouses.
