Comprised of Margarida Falcão, Ricardo Nagy and Luis Monteiro, the electro pop band formed in 2014, after meeting while studying music production. Since their formation the trio have been included in 2015’s FNAC ‘Best New Talent’ Compilation, named Tradiio’s ‘Artist of the Week’, and curated and recorded a track for French designer Philippe Starck’s exhibition at the Groninger Museum. Having received airplay and critical validation from BBC Radio 1’s Huw Stephens and Lauren Laverne on BBC 6Music, alongside online support from Louder Than War, Clash and Crack In The Road for their effervescent debut LP "Homebound 456'' , Vaarwell’s talent has continued to soar and rise exponentially, asserting a truly elegant sound and aesthetic.

Rodrigo Leão - you may not recognise the name, but you have surely heard his enchanting melodies before. With his over 30 years experience as a professional musician, the composer has written music for movies, art installations but was also never afraid to celebrate the simplicity of the pop song. Leão's music is visual and many of his instrumental pieces seem like a soundtrack in search of a film. His newest record from 2018 celebrates the 25th anniversary of his solo career showing off his amazing versatility.

Life is built-up around small details. At the very first glance, we can sense that in Noiserv’s universe the attention is focused on the very small and particular
details, which put altogether, make great songs. A very poetic and ethereal universe that could easily relates to Yann Tiersen, Radiohead, Sigur Ros, Explosions in the sky, his main
references.
Noiserv is the solo project of David Santos. His first album “One hundred miles from Thoughtlessness” was released in 2008 in Portugal and was critically acclaimed.

Chosen by NPR as one of the best discoveries from SxSW 2018, Surma has released her debut "Antwerpen" a few months ago and was nominated by IMPALA as Best European
Album of 2017. The shortlist also included The XX, Fever Ray, King Krule, and Laura Marling among others. Surma is a 23 years old one-woman band with a childlike voice surrounded by musical
instruments on stage. Before the release of her debut, she toured all over Europe and joined Toutpartout agency's roster. Surma studied double bass in a jazz school but that never stopped her
from learning every instrument she could reach. Her sonic blend combines electronic ambient music post-rock and jazz influences. With media coverage from The Line of Best Fit, Musikexpress and BBC
this young multi-instrumentalist is proving why her voice truly has to be heard.
Friday, 28.09., 22:45 - 23:30 @ Ottakringer Stage
An empirical journey circumscribed to a personal laboratory of synthesizers and sequencers. A dreamlike experimentalism that leads them, at the same time, to the strangest quadrants of electronic
music and to the most recognizable references of contemporary music. Holy Nothing acts as an artificial animal tamed and deconstructed by the hands of Pedro Rodrigues, Samuel Gonçalves and Nelson
Silva, based since 2013 in the city of Porto.
The unpredictability that this amount of synthesizers, sequencers and grooveboxes can cause are now combined with groovy, enigmatic and energetic shows, with unusual fusions between dense
environments and warm rhythms, always enhanced by Bruno Albuquerque’s visual stories. 2018 is the year when they will release their second album, with “Speed of Sound”, produced and mixed by
Pedro Rompante, being the amuse-bouche.
Saturday, 29.09., 19:15 - 20:00 @ Clash
Miami Flu is the project of four guys from Portugal who made it their mission to take you on a journey from 60's surf rock all the way to 80's synthpop with a breeze of videogame nostalgia. Their debut album "Too Much Flu Will Kill You" from 2016 was recorded in their own studio in a valley and brought out the band's first single "Vicious Pill" - a song about anxiety issues and drugs. On stage, the band releases a lot of energy, plays with wild dynamics, melodic synths and raging guitars.

Nelson Graf Reis is a musician and tattoo artist, calling the punk-rock environment his home, but loving some good ol' folk vibes in his music too. With his project We Bless This Mess, he tries to explore the premise "less is more" and the desire to externalize a true positive consciousness for the world. The debut EP "Love and Thrive" got recorded as a result of a trip to Brazil in 2014 and kickstarted a series of concerts - some with band, some solo. We Bless This Mess have played Reeperbahn Festival, Eurosonic, SXSW, Indie Music Week and more. They have just released their newest album and are more than ready to present it to the Waves' crowd.
